Send Flowers to Karlskrona, Sweden

Karlskrona is the naval city of Blekinge on Sweden's south-east coast, built across islands and listed by UNESCO for its baroque naval port. It has a large central square, a marine museum and an archipelago reaching out into the Baltic. Families with members abroad send flowers here for birthdays, anniversaries and words of sympathy.

The last Sunday of May is Mother's Day in Sweden, and Karlskrona florists sell out of roses and peonies that weekend. Midsommar is celebrated out in the archipelago with flower crowns, and Alla helgons dag in early November brings candles and wreaths to the cemeteries. Funeral flowers with a ribbon are sent to the chapel ahead of the service.

Orders placed before midnight Swedish time are delivered the following day. The florist calls the recipient first, so please include a phone number, and reschedules if nobody answers. Roses, lilies, gerberas, mixed bouquets and potted plants are available in Karlskrona; on the outer islands the florist may offer a close equivalent if a flower is not stocked.
