Send Flowers to Karlstad, Sweden

Karlstad is the capital of Värmland, on the delta where the Klarälven river flows into Lake Vänern, Sweden's largest lake. The city is known for its sunny reputation, its riverside walks and the old stone bridge across the river. Relatives abroad send flowers to Karlstad for mothers' birthdays, christenings and words of sympathy.

Swedish Mother's Day falls on the last Sunday of May, when the delta is green again and florists fill with peonies and roses. Midsommar in June is celebrated with flower crowns and maypoles across Värmland. Lucia on 13 December is marked with candles and hyacinths. Funerals are held a few weeks after a death, with flowers and a ribbon sent to the chapel.

Order before midnight Swedish time for next-day delivery. The florist calls the recipient before setting out, so a phone number is needed, and finds another time if nobody is in. Roses, lilies, gerberas, mixed bouquets and plants are standard in Karlstad, and the printed card is free.
