Send Flowers to Sundsvall, Sweden

Sundsvall is a coastal city in Medelpad, on the Gulf of Bothnia about 400 kilometres north of Stockholm. After a great fire in 1888 it was rebuilt in stone, and the Stenstaden centre with its grand facades remains its signature. Families abroad send flowers here for birthdays, graduations and condolences.

The last Sunday in May is Mother's Day in Sweden, and in Sundsvall it comes as the long northern summer begins. Studenten in June brings bouquets for graduates, and Midsommar is celebrated with flower crowns. Funeral flowers with a ribbon are sent to the chapel before the service.

Orders placed before midnight local time are delivered the following day. The florist calls the recipient, so a mobile number is required, and reschedules if nobody is home. Roses, lilies, mixed bouquets and potted plants are available in Sundsvall; in villages along the coast the florist may propose a closely equivalent arrangement if a flower is not stocked.
